Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian announced on Monday that China and India will hold the 23rd meeting of special representatives on the China-India border issue this Wednesday in Beijing.
According to China Daily, Wang Yi, China's Special Representative on the border issue and Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs, will co-chair the meeting with India’s Special Representative Ajit Doval, who also serves as the country’s National Security Advisor.
The leaders of China and India last met in October in Kazan, Russia, where they agreed to make full use of the special representatives' mechanism to ensure peace and tranquility in the border areas and to work toward a fair and reasonable settlement. The last meeting on this issue was hosted by India in 2019.
