China’s military said on Wednesday that it has recently conducted a military exercise around Taiwan as a "solemn warning" against the US, Chinese state media reported.
It is noteworthy that this is not the first exercise announced by the Chinese military this month. On May 9, Beijing said that it had conducted another round of exercises near Taiwan earlier this month, to improve joint combat operations.
On Monday, US President Joe Biden angered Beijing when he appeared to signal a change in US policy on “strategic ambiguity” on Taiwan by saying the US would intervene militarily if China attacked the island.
