The Chinese government has allocated 100 million yuan (about $14 million) to support the reconstruction efforts after the disaster in Beijing and the neighboring "Hebei" province, Xinhua News Agency reported Wednesday.

According to the National Development and Reform Commission of China, the central budget will be used to aid the reconstruction of infrastructure and public service facilities in areas severely impacted by heavy rains and floods.

Chinese authorities have been intensively involved in rescue and relief efforts in response to the heavy rainfall caused by the typhoon, which resulted in the death of 11 people in Beijing as of yesterday morning.

The Ministry of Finance and the Emergency Management Administration have also allocated 110 million yuan to support the rescue and relief efforts for those affected by the floods in Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei.
