Chelsea FC have officially announced a long-term contract extension for Ecuadorian midfielder Moisés Caicedo, keeping him at the club until 2033 in a move aimed at securing the future of one of their most important midfield players.

Caicedo joined Chelsea from Brighton & Hove Albion in August 2023 and quickly established himself as a key figure in the squad, becoming one of the top defensive midfielders in world football.

Since his arrival, the 24-year-old has made 140 appearances for the Blues and played a crucial role in helping the team secure both the UEFA Europa Conference League and the FIFA Club World Cup titles.

Caicedo expressed his happiness after signing the new deal, stating: “I am very happy to extend my contract with Chelsea. I believe in this team and this club, and I am confident we are moving in the right direction. We are still at the beginning of our journey together, and there is a lot more to achieve. I aim to improve every day and win more trophies. My dream is to become one of Chelsea’s legends.”

As he approaches the end of his third season with the club, Caicedo has further cemented his status as a leader within the team.

He was awarded both the club’s Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year for the 2024–2025 season after contributing significantly to their recent successes.

He has also worn the captain’s armband on several occasions this season, most recently during Chelsea’s FA Cup quarter-final victory over Port Vale FC.
