Chelsea were held to an exciting 2-2 draw by Bournemouth on Tuesday night at Stamford Bridge in the 2025-2026 Premier League season.
The game began at a frantic pace, with Bournemouth taking an early lead through David Brooks in the sixth minute.
Chelsea responded quickly as Cole Palmer equalized in the 15th minute, before Enzo Fernandez completed the turnaround with a second goal for the hosts in the 23rd minute.
Bournemouth, however, struck back almost immediately, with Justin Kluivert scoring the equalizer in the 27th minute, capping a remarkable first half hour marked by rapid exchanges of goals.
According to Opta statistics, this encounter marked only the second time in Chelsea’s history that the team both scored two or more goals and conceded two or more goals within the opening 30 minutes of a Premier League match at Stamford Bridge.
The previous instance occurred against Burnley in April 2019.
With this result, Chelsea slipped to fifth place in the Premier League standings with 30 points, trailing fourth-placed Liverpool, who have 32 points. Bournemouth sit in fifteenth position with 23 points.
Chelsea’s inconsistent form continued, having recorded just one win in their last five league matches, including a previous goalless draw against Bournemouth.
