On the sidelines of the World Youth Forum (WYF2019), President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received his Palestinian Counterpart President Mahmoud Abbas in Sharm El-Sheikh where the forum is being held.

"President Sisi reaffirmed the Egyptian stance towards the Palestinian cause in terms of the two-state solution and establishment of a Palestinian state of 1967 borders whose capital city is eastern Jerusalem," said Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady on Sunday.

Rady noted that Sisi stressed that Cairo is always doing its sincere endeavors to the Palestinian issue in coordination with the Palestinian side. "The main goal is to format a strategic vision so that new positive moves can help stabilize field situations."

On his part, Abbas expressed his appreciation to the Egyptian efforts in this regard and hailed the historical role of Egypt.

"The meeting came within the framework of the permanent coordination between the two leaders," said Palestinian ambassador to Egypt and permanent delegate to the Arab League Diab al-Louh.

Louh manifested that Sisi and Abbas discussed issues of mutual concern and agreed on establishing a stage for Egyptian-Palestinian strategic partnership which will be deeper and broader, and will include all vital fields between the two brotherly countries.

They also agreed to continue coordinating joint stances to face current challenges and developments.

Abbas left Sharm el-Sheikh on Sunday after participating in the forum.

The four-day event kicked off on Saturday in the Red Sea resort of Sharm El Sheikh under the auspices of President Sisi who, along with First Lady Entissar El Sisi, attended the opening ceremony and other workshops.
