Russian Language Center Inaugurated in Egypt

Center for the Preparatory Department for teaching the Russian Language of Kazan Federal University was inaugurated in Cairo on Monday.

This comes within the framework of joint cooperation in the field of higher education, one of the goals of humanitarian cooperation between Egypt and Russia, which came at the initiative of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Dr.Mahmoud Shaheen, the representative of Kazan University, affirmed that the center allows Egyptian students to study the principles of the Russian language in a full semester, provided that they complete the study in the second semester at the university’s headquarters in Kazan, Russia.

Shaheen also noted that one of the advantages of studying at the center is introducing students to the customs and traditions of Russian culture.

On his part, Sherif Gad, President of the Egyptian Association of Graduates of Russian and Soviet Universities, welcomed this unprecedented step in the history of bilateral relations, which we have been waiting for a long time in order to strengthen relations with the Russian side in the fields of education.

Moreover, Gad asserted that this move is the beginning, adding that we look forward to more cooperation and waiting for other Russian universities to join, which will be welcomed by Egyptian students.

He also mentioned that period of staying abroad and the costs will be reduced, in light of the growing interest of Egyptian youth in enrolling in Russian universities, as the number of students has reached nearly 19 thousand students.
