Al Ahly has confirmed that the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has ruled in its favor regarding last season’s Egyptian Premier League title.
The club announced the decision on its official Facebook page, stating that CAS had upheld Al Ahly’s full entitlement to the championship and rejected the rival appeal.
The ruling effectively ends the dispute over the title, which had been challenged by Pyramids FC after the Egyptian Clubs Association had earlier declared Al Ahly the league winner.
Pyramids had contested the decision, arguing that certain circumstances affected the validity of Al Ahly’s triumph and calling for the title to be reassigned. However, the case was escalated to CAS, the sport’s highest judicial authority, whose verdict is considered final and binding.
The latest decision reinforces Al Ahly’s status as the official Egyptian Premier League champion for the previous season.
