Carlo Ancelotti, head coach of the Brazil national team, is reportedly close to extending his contract, according to Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) president Samir Zoued.
Ancelotti took charge of the national team last summer, with his current contract set to expire at the end of the 2026 World Cup. The CBF is reportedly preparing a new offer to keep him in charge.
Zoued told Football Italia, "Negotiations are already underway. Both sides are committed, and we are making some administrative adjustments to continue working together."
He added, "Extending the contract before the World Cup is crucial for Brazilian football. I have always believed in medium- and long-term projects and structured work."
The CBF president praised Ancelotti’s impact: "Carlo has proven his competence and character in a short period.
He is the ideal person for the Brazil national team and for the CBF. We want to continue this work and give him more time to develop football in Brazil."
