The English Football Association has officially confirmed the date and venue for the 2026 Community Shield, which will see Arsenal face Manchester City in the traditional curtain-raiser to the new English football season.
The match is scheduled to take place on Sunday, August 16, with kick-off set for 5:00 p.m. Cairo time.
This year's Community Shield will be held at the iconic Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, marking the competition's return to the venue for the first time since 2006. The decision was made due to Wembley Stadium being unavailable as it will host a series of major concerts during the same period.
The Community Shield traditionally pits the Premier League champions against the FA Cup winners and serves as the official opening match of the English football season.
The clash is also expected to attract significant attention as it could mark Manchester City's first competitive match under a new manager following the departure of Pep Guardiola last month, adding extra intrigue to one of the most anticipated fixtures of the summer.
