CAPMAS: Egypt-Mauritania Trade Exchange Increases 11.3%

Data from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) revealed an increase in the value of trade exchange between Egypt and Mauritania to record $42.9 million in 2022, compared to $38.5 million in 2021, an increase of 11.3%.

The value of Egyptian exports to Mauritania recorded $41.1 million in 2022, compared to $38.3 million in 2021, an increase of 7.3%, while the value of Egyptian imports from Mauritania amounted to $1.8 million, compared to $241,000, an increase of 644.4%.

Regarding the most important commodity groups that Egypt exported to Mauritania during the year 2022, fertilizers came in first place with a value of $11 million, then milk and dairy products with a value of $8.9 million, then salt and sulfur with a value of $7.2 million, vegetable preparations with a value of $4.3 million, in addition to carpets and floor coverings worth $4.1 million.

The Statistics Authority stated that the most important commodity groups that Egypt imported from Mauritania during the year 2022 are animals fodder at a value of $1.1 million, fish at a value of $678,600, then clothes at a value of $3,400.
