Cairo University President Mohamed Osman Elkhosht announced that the university has achieved great progress in QS Classification, as the university managed to enter the top 100 universities in the world in 5 majors.
The listed majors increased by 160% compared to the 2017 results in the classification, as Cairo University is the only Egyptian university that was present in the five main sectors combined included in the world classification for 2022 and among the top 300 universities in the world's major scientific sectors.
Elkhosht added that the university ranked 51-1000 globally in civil and construction engineering, petroleum engineering, and hospitality and leisure management. It ranked 81 globally in pharmacy and pharmacology and ranked 51-70 in dentistry.
The president of Cairo University pointed out that the university ranked 271 globally in the arts and humanities sector, noting that the university witnessed an advanced ranking in engineering and technology as it ranked 134 globally, in addition to an advanced position in the field of life sciences and medicine, where it ranked 178 globally.
He mentioned that Cairo University ranked 292 globally in the field of natural sciences, and 226 globally in the field of social and administrative sciences.
He explained that the university is among the top 300 universities in the world in the main sectors of the English classification is a great leap in the history of the university in an international ranking.
The volume of development in 2022 in the ranking of all these topics amounted to 31.7%, an increase compared to 2017.
Elkhosht followed up by saying that the university appeared in the QS classification in an advanced arrangement from previous years locally and globally, as a result of strategic planning at all levels, especially reducing the knowledge gap with the advanced universities, and raising the level of university education and graduates to qualify them for the labor market in an appropriate manner and to compete with graduates and regional and international universities.
It is noteworthy to mention that Cairo University is the only Egyptian university classified in all major sectors combined and has a specific and advanced arrangement of them from the previous year.
