Cairo Uni. to Evacuate Students Hostel over Coronavirus

President of Cairo University Dr. Mohamed Osman El-Khosht directed the evacuation of the university Students’ Hostel ahead of launching a sterilization and disinfection campaign over the outbreak of coronavirus.

He added that the step comes within the university’s precautionary plan to limit the spread of the deadly virus.

Al-Khost also directed all deans of faculties and institutes, and heads of hospitals to directly follow-up the implementation of the university’s plan to fight the virus.

He also directed them to evacuate all rooms in the university students’ hostel in conjunction with the decision to suspend the educational process in schools and universities for two weeks.

He pointed out that the Cairo University conducted a medical survey on all students, as well as using thermal scanners on the university gates to check on the students’ health condition and they are free of coronavirus.

It is noteworthy that Cairo University has prepared an early a comprehensive plan to confront the novel coronavirus, through taking a number of precautionary measures; this includes the formation of a high committee, headed by the university’s president, to follow-up the implementation of the plan, take all steps required to address the deadly virus and launch a wide-range awareness campaign among students regarding the dangers of the virus and how to protect themselves.
