On Monday, Cairo Opera House held a press conference in the presence of its chairman, Dr. Khaled Dagher, and Egyptian superstar Medhat Saleh.

Dagher announced the details of the new artistic project, "The Professors", which aims to reformulate the Arab musical heritage as one of the creative colors that characterize the Arabic identity with new arrangements while preserving its unique character.

The proceedings of the conference began with a speech delivered by Dr. Khaled Dagher, President of the Opera House, during which he welcomed the attendees.

He added that Dr. Nevin Al-Kilani, Minister of Culture supports this new millennium project, which is established in cooperation between the Opera House, the prominent singer Medhat Saleh, and the United Company for Media Services, which he thanked for its interest in shedding light on the Opera activities and performances.

Dagher went on to say that Arabic music is a rich artistic color that passed through many stages. Various melodies are presented that include all of them differently, through the transition of melodies from the traditional takht (a four-piece music band) form to the modern and sophisticated orchestral image without prejudice to the basic structure of melodies and maqamat (music modes).

He also announced that the first concerts will be held at 8:30 on the evening of Friday, July 7, at the Grand Theatre of the EOH.

For his part, Saleh thanked the audience and the head of the Cairo Opera House.

He stressed that the idea of the project is a step to modernize the musical heritage and reformulate the Arab music library by distributing a group of Egyptian and Arab giants' melodies, including Mohamed Abdel-Wahhab, Farid Al-Atrash, Kamal Al-Taweel, Mohamed Al-Mogy, Riyad Al-Sunbati, Mohamed Fawzi, Al-Rahbaniyah (Lebanon), Talal Maddah - Siraj Omar (Saudi Arabia), Abdul Hamid Al-Sayed (Kuwait) and others through several music distributors, including Ahmed Mustafa - Ahmed Al-Mogy - Osama Kamal, through a harmonious formation of different musical instruments.

Also, Saleh emphasized that choosing several icons of Arab composers is preparing love letters to brothers in the Arab world.

The acclaimed singer pointed out that reformulating old musical works provides an opportunity to present them in a new way that attracts diverse audiences.

Saleh invited all his fellow artists to participate in the project to achieve the desired goal.
