In a statement, the festival president. Mohamed Hefzy stated: "The festival is always keen to honor the figures who combine talent, popularity, devotion to the cinema, and this applies to the star Karim Abdel Aziz, who will be awarded the Faten Hamama Award for Excellence,"
He added: "I respected Karim Abdel Aziz throughout his 20 years of a successful career in which he played roles in comedies, action, thrillers, horror, and romance. He managed to succeed and sometimes surprise us with his bold choices,".
"It is not by coincidence that he is among the highest-earning movie stars in the history of Egyptian cinema without having to follow the guaranteed pattern of the film market," Hefzy concluded.

In a statement, Abdel Aziz thanked the festival management for this honor that bears the name of the lady of the Arab screen, Faten Hamama.
He described the honor as a turning point in his artistic career, which started from the film "Adhak alsuwrat tatalie Hulwa", to TV series "El Ekhteyar 2: Regal El Zel", which premiered last Ramadan, and the film "Kira & El Gin", which is he currently shooting.
Abdel Aziz added that the award reminded him of the very beginnings of his career, when he hoped to be among the invited artists to attend the festival, one of the oldest film festivals and even the most important one in the Middle East, but come next November he will attend as an honoree.
The 43rd CIFF will run from 26 November to 5 December.
