Cairo Festival City Embraces ‘RUN FOR A HEART’ Marathon

In line with its corporate social responsibility initiatives, Cairo Festival City (CFC), an affiliate of Egypt’s leading real estate developer Al-Futtaim Group Real Estate (AFGRE), has hosted the ‘RUN FOR A HEART’ Marathon.

The event is a joint cooperation between CFC, Ignite Egypt and Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation (MYHF), and sponsored by Allianz Egypt.

The marathon has covered a distance of five kilometers, over the course of 2 hours.

The main purpose behind this initiative was to raise awareness of children heart diseases, as well as support the benevolent efforts made by (MYHF( in providing world-class and free-of-charge treatment to heart & cardiovascular disease patients.

 

“It is always our honor and privilege to dedicate our vast resources to achieve worthy humanitarian goals. In this essence, we were quick to embrace the idea of hosting this running (for charity) event; in cooperation with Ignite Egypt, Allianz Egypt, and Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation (MYHF),” stated Managing Director of Al-Futtaim Group Real Estate (AFGRE) - Eng. Ashraf Ezz El Din.

“The marathon’s fundraising proceeds will be fully allocated to support the foundation. These contributions assist in providing free-of-charge treatments to Aswan Heart Center patients; 60% of whom are children”

Our striking landscape, beautiful greenery, and fresh atmosphere wrap each event with an overwhelming spirit of joy & excitement.” elaborated Ezz El Din.

 

Ignite is a company that has always upheld its mission of helping to change people’s lives to the better by improving the quality of their lives, through all of its gyms across Egypt.

Ignite’s Fitness and Events Director, Deana Shaaban commented about this impactful initiative, saying: “At Ignite, we consider it to be our life’s mission to change people’s lives for the better; through promoting physical fitness and healthy habits."

On Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation’s part, Director of Marketing and Communications - Reem Gadelrab, extended her gratitude to CFC, Ignite Egypt and Allianz for their role in supporting the foundation: “We are able to save lives thanks to the support of our partners and donors. It is worth noting that two prominent athletic champions_ who also happen to be Allianz Egypt’s brand ambassadors_ have participated in the marathon festivities; namely Paralympic swimming champion Ziad Kahil, and shooting champion Ahmed Tawheed Zaher.
