CAF Pushes Back Champions League, Confederation Cup GS Dates

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) decided to adjust the schedule of the group stage of both CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup due to the African Nations Championship qualifiers that will take place at the same period of the both club competitions before the latest adjustment. 

The group stage was supposed to start on the previously scheduled date of October 25.

Earlier, media reports revealed that the CAF is thinking of pushing the dates of the group stage of the club competitions to solve the problem of the conflicted dates. 

Sources in CAF indicated that the CAF wanted to make changes to the dates of the group stage matches of the Champions League and Confederation Cup competitions after the Executive Office of the Confederation of African Football set the dates for the African Nations Championship for local players (CHAN) in February 2025, while the qualifiers will take place between the end of October until the end December.
