On Wednesday, the President of the African Football Confederation (CAF), Patrice Motsipe, supported Egypt's Al Ahly ahead of their participation in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
Motsipe sent a letter to the President of Al Ahly, Mahmoud El Khatib, confirming his support for the Red Devils.
The CAF President said, "We trust in Al Ahly, with its rich and glorious history, and millions across the African continent take pride in it."
Al Ahly will kick off their 2025 FIFA Club World Cup campaign by facing the hosts' representatives, Inter Miami, in the opening of the tournament next Sunday, June 15.
Al Ahly's group in the tournament includes Inter Miami (USA), Porto (Portugal), and Palmeiras (Brazil).
