CAF President Mourns S. Africa Jayden Adams' Death

Confederation of African Football (CAF) President Patrice Motsepe has expressed his deep sorrow following the death of South Africa international and Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Jayden Adams, who passed away at the age of 25.

In an official statement, Motsepe extended his heartfelt condolences to Adams' family, the South African Football Association (SAFA) led by Danny Jordaan, and Mamelodi Sundowns.

CAF noted that Adams represented South Africa at the 2026 FIFA World Cup and was also a member of the Mamelodi Sundowns squad that won the 2026 CAF Champions League in Rabat.

"On behalf of CAF and its 54 Member Associations, President Patrice Motsepe extends his sincere condolences to the family of Jayden Adams and the entire South African football community during this difficult time," the statement read.

Adams began his professional career with Stellenbosch FC before joining Mamelodi Sundowns, where he established himself as one of the country's brightest midfield talents. His consistent performances also earned him a regular place in South Africa's national team.

News of the 25-year-old's passing has sent shockwaves across South African football, with clubs, players, and football organizations paying tribute to his contributions and remembering his promising career.
