CAF Organizes Historic Legends Match in Collaboration with Min. of Youth

In collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, The Confederation of African Football (CAF) hosted a football exhibition match at the great pyramids of Egypt which included a number of African and international legends this afternoon ahead of the CAF Awards 2019 ceremony to be held on Tuesday in Hurghada.

On his part, Dr. Ashraf Sobhy the minister of Youth and Sports greeted all the legends who attended and expressed his great joy of holding an event of this caliber.

Egyptian archaeologist Dr. Zahi Hawass said hosting football legends in front of great pyramids is a great event, promotes tourism to Egypt.

Hawass asserted that this match conveyed a message to the whole world that Egypt is safe and all the archaeological areas are secure.

The exhibition match was held in the presence of Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Tourism and Antiquities Minister Dr. Khaled Anani, FIFA president Gianni Infantino.

The exhibition game included Zamalek and Tottenham Hotspur’s former star Ahmed Hossam 'Mido', Egypt's former Ahmed Hassan, Ahly and the national team’s former defender Wael Gomaa, Liverpool and Senegal's legend El-Hadji Diouf, Argentina's Juan Sebastian Veron, World Cup champion Brazil's Cafu, Algeria's legend Rabeh Madjer and many other African and world football former stars.
