On Tuesday, Moroccan reports revealed that the Confederation of African Football (CAF) would select Morocco for hosting AFCON 2025, and Algeria for hosting 2027's edition.

The reasons for such a decision were explained by the Moroccan outlet as the CAF would like to satisfy Morocco after rejecting to participate in the latest African Nations Cup because it was hosted in Algeria.

In the same context, the confederation will give Algeria the advantage of hosting 2027's edition after showing interest in organizing 2025's version after they did huge developments for the country's infrastructure.

It added that Morocco is interested in hosting the games as the country needs to propose a good presentation for its infrastructure as it is bidding for hosting FIFA World Cup 2030.

So, the report expressed that Egypt's proposal for hosting AFCON 2027 would be declined in favor of Algeria.
