The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced on Wednesday the Best XI for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. The selection featured a strong Moroccan presence, with players who shone throughout the continental competition notably absent were any players from the Egyptian national team, which finished fourth.
Senegal won the Africa Cup of Nations title for the second time in its history, following a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Morocco in the final match held Sunday evening at the Moulay Abdellah Stadium. The Best XI included four Moroccan players: goalkeeper Yassine Bounou, defenders Achraf Hakimi and Noussair Mazraoui, and playmaker Brahim Diaz, highlighting the Moroccan team's dominance in individual performances during the tournament. The Best XI is as follows: Goalkeeper: Yassine Bounou (Morocco).
Defenders: Calvin Bassey (Nigeria), Moussa Niakhaté (Senegal), Achraf Hakimi (Morocco), Noussair Mazraoui (Morocco).
Midfield: Idrissa Gueye (Senegal), Ademola Lookman (Nigeria), Pape Gueye (Senegal); Attack: Ibrahim Diaz (Morocco), Victor Osimhen (Nigeria), Sadio Mane (Senegal).
