CAF Announce Disciplinary Sanctions on Al Masry

CAF have officially announced the disciplinary sanctions on Al Masry following the RS Berkane game incident.

Despite their strong start to the 2022 CAF Confederation Cup, Al Masry were knocked out of the tournament after a 1-0 away defeat against RS Berkane.

Following the full-time whistle of the second game, some skirmishes took place with Al Masry coaching staff and a number of players and the game’s referee.

Three weeks after the second-leg game, CAF announced disciplinary sanctions on a number of coaching staff members and players for violent behaviour.

List of imposed sanctions:

Administrative manager Mahmoud Gaber is suspended for six months and fined $10,000.

Assistant manager Magdy Traore is suspended for four games and fined $10,000.

Players Faird Shawky and Mohamed Grindo are suspended for four games and fined $10,000 each.
