Cabinet Approves Proposals to Support Tourism Sector

The Cabinet, in its meeting on Wednesday under Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli, agreed on a number of proposals to support the tourism sector in order to face the repercussions of coronavirus crisis.

Administrative reservations of hotel and tourism projects will be delayed for another year, to end on December 31, 2021.

Hotels and tourist facilities will be exempted from paying real estate tax, starting from January 1 and until April 30, 2021.

Debts of hotels will be structured for 36 months that were an outcome of Covid-19 crisis.

Some government fees of Nile cruises will be delayed across the country. About 60% of the dues will be delayed in return for the monthly consumption of electricity, gas and water.

The same decisions will be applied on aviation companies.
