Cabinet Approves E-Learning Proposal, Conveys President's Greetings on New Year

PM: A directive from the President to rely on the local component in implementing the "A Dignified Life" initiative to deepen national industrialization.

Dealing decisively with any attempt to hold New Year's celebrations and applying the fine and legal procedures against violators.

The Council of Ministers has approved over its meeting today, Thursday, the proposal of the Ministries of Education and Higher Education to complete the teaching curricula in the distance education system  next Saturday until the end of the first semester and postpone the examinations until after the mid-year vacation.

Extending the reconciliation period for building violations until the end of March

Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, began the cabinet meeting today, by congratulating President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the President of the Republic, the ministers, members of the government, and the great Egyptian people, on the occasion of the new calendar year.

He asked God to make the new year good and blessed for both Egypt and all humanity.

The Premier indicated that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi directed concerned officials to launch of the second phase of the presidential initiative, "A Dignified Life," which will be implemented during these days, to develop the Egyptian countryside and raise the level of services provided to the people of Egypt.

Some 18 million Egyptians benefit from that initiative.

Madbouly stressed that there is a directive from President El-Sisi that it is necessary to rely on the local component in implementing this vital and important project, with the aim of deepening national industrialization, such as electricity cables, water, and sanitation stations to rely on the central procurement system.

On the other hand, the PM stressed, during today's meeting, the importance of implementation of Cabinet decisions regarding reducing the number of employees in ministries, governors, and government agencies, and ensuring the rotation of employees in attendance, in light of the precautionary measures to prevent the Coronavirus.

He pointed out that this emphasis comes In light of the many complaints received by the government in this regard, indicating that the implementation of these decisions must be followed up and that the unified government complaints system in the Council of Ministers will receive any complaints from any party in this regard, and the responsible minister will be contacted immediately, to take the appropriate action.

The Prime Minister touched on the immediate fines that will be implemented next Sunday against those who violate the implementation of the precautionary measures.

PM affirmed that government does not tolerate any party in the implementation of the precautionary measurements.

The government will follow up with all governors on the implementation procedures, especially since there is a decision issued by the Minister of Justice regarding the judicial seizure of who will be in charge.

Madbouly also stressed the immediate and decisive deal with any attempt to hold celebrations or gatherings on the occasion of New Year's Day, with legal measures taken against violators.

In the context of facing the repercussions of the spread of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), and in the interest of the health and safety of all members of the educational process, students, faculty members, and teachers, the Cabinet approved the proposal submitted by the Ministries of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Education and Technical Education, to complete teaching curricula starting from next Saturday, until the end of the first semester of the academic year 2020/2021 according to the distance education system, with basic requirements fulfilled, minimum standards for completing school curricula.

The Cabinet decided to postpone all examinations that were to be held this semester until after the end of the mid-year vacation year with this being applied to all types and levels of education.

During Today's meeting, the Council of Ministers agreed to extend the period of reconciliation in construction violations for a period of 3 months.

This period expires at the end of next March, according to the law on reconciliation in some building violations and its executive regulations.

In light of this law, the applicant for reconciliation must pay 30% of the value of reconciliation to prove his seriousness in reconciliation.

If he pays in January, he will pay 35% and he will 35%  in February, and 40% if he pays next March, instead of the 25%, which was previously approved by the government to be paid by those who are serious about reconciliation during the past months.
