The British Embassy in Cairo congratulated Liverpool FC on winning the Premier League title and saluted Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, "the pride of Egypt," for his significant role and ongoing achievements, which always delight millions of Egyptians.
The embassy stated on its social media accounts on Monday, "The joy is great for Liverpool fans around the world, especially here in Egypt."
It added, "A world-class English team... and a shining Egyptian star!"
The embassy also published a photo of international star Mohamed Salah raising the Egyptian flag, and another showing the joy of English fans in the streets of Cairo over Salah after Liverpool's league victory.
