Pope Francis will pay a visit to Iraq between March 5-8 next year, the Vatican announced on Monday, according to Reuters.
This will be the first-ever visit by a pope to Iraq.
Pope Francis is set to visit five places, including Baghdad, Erbil, and Mosul.
“The program of the Journey will be made known in due course, and will take into consideration the evolution of the worldwide health emergency," the Vatican spokesman Matteo Bruni said in a statement.
