In a precedent of its kind, "El Hadaba” Amr Diab and his music career were the focus of a special episode play on a famous Brazilian radio station.
Radio host João Marcello Bôscoli spoke during an episode titled, "Direct from Egypt, Mediterranean Music by Amr Diab" on his program "Sala de Música" broadcast on the radio station "CBN", about the music the acclaimed singer presents, which is a mixture of Egyptian and pop music.
He described Diab as the spiritual father and godfather of Mediterranean music.
The radio host also talked about the awards he received, including the World Music Award, which "El Hadaba” obtained four times, becoming the first Arab and Middle Eastern artist to achieve the feat.
Bôscoli also shed light on the importance of the role played by Amr Diab's music and songs in transmitting Egyptian culture to the world through mixing Egyptian words and melodies with advanced arrangements that keep pace with the international musical language.
Diab, born on October 11, 1961, is a multi-award-winning pop singer-songwriter. He created his own style which is often termed “Mediterranean Music”, a blend of Western and Egyptian rhythms, by 1992, he became the first Arabic artist to start making high-tech music videos.
He is a Guinness World Record holder, the best-selling Middle Eastern artist, a seven-time winner of World Music Awards, and a five-time winner of Platinum Records.
