Walid Youssef, Vice President of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) for the Southern Region received a Brazilian delegation from the FGV EUROPE and CITTA institutions, and an accompanying delegation from the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce to review the efforts of the economic zone and its partners in the fields of green development and environmental solutions, as well as investment incentives within the affiliated industrial zones and ports, and discuss ways of joint cooperation between the two sides.
The vice president of the economic zone gave a detailed presentation on the economic zone of the Suez Canal, during which he clarified the potentials and geographical location of the region, its proximity to foreign markets, and its dealings with many international trade agreements that facilitate the entry of goods and products to various markets.
He referred to the services provided by the authority to investors, especially the one-stop service to facilitate procedures and obtain licenses in all sectors, pointing to the industries targeted by the region, including the food industries, which are distinguished by the Abu Khalifa area in eastern Ismailia for their settlement, and they are designated to receive food and agricultural industries.
The delegation of FGV EUROPE, the European branch of the most important research center in Brazil, expressed their interest in investing in the economic zone, pointing to the great opportunity available for cooperation with the economic zone as a global partner that has a clear strategy for the future.
CITTA Foundation, a non-profit organization specialized in the field of agricultural development and support for environmental protection efforts, indicated the possibility of coordination with the economic zone in terms of its economic sectors within its vision, especially with regard to the fields of agriculture and the environment.
After the meeting, the Brazilian delegation made an inspection tour of the Sokhna industrial area of the economic zone, to get acquainted with a number of industrial projects established in it. It should be noted that the FGV EUROPE and CITTA foundations aim to implement sustainable agriculture development projects in developing countries, provide technical support and train small farmers, in addition to developing local and international markets for sustainable agricultural products.
