The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) has officially submitted a request to FIFA to host the 2029 edition of the FIFA Club World Cup, as announced by the federation.
The announcement came following a meeting in the United States between CBF President Ednaldo Rodrigues and FIFA President Gianni Infantino. During the meeting, Rodrigues expressed his goals for leading Brazilian football and emphasized his desire to strengthen relations with FIFA.
Rodrigues also praised the quality of the current Club World Cup edition and the performance of Brazilian clubs before presenting Brazil’s interest in hosting the tournament.
According to reports, Infantino welcomed the idea in principle, stating that the proposal is “feasible and worth considering.”
If selected, Brazil would host the second edition under the tournament's new format, which features 48 clubs from across the globe and is scheduled to be held in June and July 2029.
