American actor and movie producer Brad Pitt, who plays an astronaut in his latest movie “Ad Astra'', managed to chat with a real astronaut Nick Hague about space, and other topics.

"I gotta tell you, this is a real treat — real pleasure to be talking to you up there," Brad said greeting Nick.

"Likewise, a treat for us, actually. We got a chance to sneak preview the movie a few weeks back," Nick replied.

"Just wanted to start off by saying thank you for what you're doing to contribute to the mission of awareness and to light that fire in the imaginations in the next generation of explorers," he added.

Pitt and Hague spoke on a call from space to Earth, discussed several topics including, NASA's Artemis Program.

The 55-year-old actor had also talked about how Hague navigates life on the International Space Station.

"I was curious," Pitt said, "what are the repercussions on your body in zero-g? First of all, would it be morning for you there, would it be night for you there? How do you gauge your waking hours if you see 16 sunrises and sunsets a day?".

They even chatted about Pitt's performance in the movie and how it compared to George Clooney's performance in 2013 space drama "Gravity”.

"Who was more believable? Clooney or me?" he asked.

The movie is set to be screened at the opening night of El Gouna Film Festival 3rd edition, which kicks off on September 19 at El Gouna Resort-town, in Red Sea governorate.

The plot revolves around astronaut Roy McBride (played by Brad Pitt) who embarks on a journey to the solar system in search of his long lost father (played by Tommy Lee Jones) who disappeared two decades prior after leaving earth in search of advanced extraterrestrial life on Neptune.

It also features Liv Tyler Donald Sutherland and Oscar-nominated actress Ruth Negga.

Ad Astra is set to hit the theaters on Sept. 20.
