Mike Tyson’s ex-manager has revealed details of squabble between the boxing legend and NBA's Michael Jordan at a dinner in 1988.
Both athletes have dominated the news in recent weeks, with Tyson announcing a return to the ring for charity and Jordan at the center of popular Netflix documentaries ‘The Last Dance’.
Back in the 1980's, the two Americans were at the prime of their careers, but despite being the undisputed and undefeated heavyweight champion of the world, Tyson was also battling with personal issues in his life.
His violent marriage to Robin Givens, and their harsh porce, caused Tyson’s personal life to eventually spiral out of control.
Jordan briefly dated Givens in 1987 before she met Tyson, creating tension when the pair attended a birthday dinner for Chicago Bears star Richard Dent, alongside Don King and Bears coach Mike Ditka.
Rory Hollway, who co-managed Tyson in 1988, has written a book chronicling the boxer’s career, and he looks back on the famous night in vivid detail.
"Tyson wanted to start a fight with Jordan over the issue at the dinner, while Jordan looked like he'd seen a ghost," the manager said.
