US Secretary of State Antony Blinken started a Middle East tour on Friday as he arrived in Turkey.

His tour will include a stop in Israel ahead of the rising escalations in Gaza, in addition to several countries like Greece, Jordan, and Egypt.

The Department of State said in a statement that Blinken is visiting Istanbul, Crete, Amman, Doha, Abu Dhabi, Al ‘Ula, Tel Aviv, the West Bank, and Cairo.

The statement read: "Throughout his trip, the Secretary will underscore the importance of protecting civilian lives in Israel and the West Bank and Gaza; securing the release of all remaining hostages; our shared commitment to facilitating the increased, sustained delivery of life-saving humanitarian assistance to civilians in Gaza and the resumption of essential services; and ensuring that Palestinians are not forcibly displaced from Gaza."

Other files will be included during the talks like the actions of the Houthis, the navigation in the Red Sea, and the two-state solution for Palestine.
