Blinken Hails ‘Extraordinary’ Group of Muslim Workers

On Friday, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken expressed his happiness to contact extraordinary group of Muslim frontline workers ​from around the world.​

"This week, I was humbled to ​connect​ with an extraordinary group of Muslim frontline workers ​from around the world," Blinken wrote on Twitter.

Blinken also affirmed that their service and sacrifice throughout the coronavirus pandemic "exemplify the spirit of the recent Eid holiday."

The U.S. Secretary attached his tweet with a video clip in which he expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Muslim workers.

On the occasion of Eid al-Adha, he extended his warmest wishes to Muslims around the world on Twitter. “I wish you all a happy Eid al-Adha. Eid Mubarak and Hajj Mabrour.”

Moreover, he stressed that they honor the Muslims worldwide who are spending the holiday separated from their families and friends and following health and safety guidelines, especially those who were not able to participate in the Hajj pilgrimage.

“We are hopeful that many pilgrims will have an opportunity to perform their pilgrimage once it is safe," he added.
