U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken commented on the killing of Palestinian journalist Hamza al-Dahdouh, the son of journalist Wael al-Dahdouh, in an Israeli airstrike on the Gaza Strip.
Blinken said on Sunday during a visit to Qatar, "I am deeply saddened by the profound loss that journalist Wael al-Dahdouh is experiencing. I am a father, and I cannot imagine the atrocity that Wael al-Dahdouh has faced not once but twice."
Blinken also stressed that "this is an unimaginable tragedy, and this is the reality of many innocent Palestinian children, men, and women."
He pointed out that it is essential that the Israeli occupation do more to protect Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip who must be able to "return to their homes."
