Earlier on today, Egypt woke up with very impressive news as Egyptian bodybuilder Ramy El Sebai also known as Big Ramy was crowned the Mr. Olympia 2020 title on Sunday- the biggest and most famous and prestigious bodybuilding competition in the world.
Mr. Olympia is considered to be the most prestigious bodybuilding contest in the world. Holders of this sports include Hollywood Icons Arnold Schwarzenegger, Lou Ferrigno and bodybuilding icons- Jay Cutler and Ronnie Coleman. All amazed the crowd with their impressive physiques.
This year's Mr, Olympia, the pride of Egypt Big Ramy didn't just overcome the world's bodybuilding giants, he also overcame the world's most deadly disease in the form of the deadly COVID-19 only a month before he had to compete for bodybuilding's biggest honor and become the first Egyptian and second Arab to reign supreme.
Ramy also chose to prepare for the competition in his own homeland, Egypt instead of Kuwait, where he lived an trained for the the past couple of years.
The Egyptian Hulk trained under the watchful eyes of many Egyptian bodybuilding professionals and under the guidance of prominent businessman Islam Kortam, head of the newly forged KO Squad.
Upon his great victory, Big Ramy, also know for his humbleness thanked all his supporters.

Big Ramy posted “I want to thank all bodybuilding fans in the world for the love and support I have received. I almost missed the tournament, but your support is what prompted the tournament management to send a special invitation to me to participate and win the title.”
Born, Raised in Egypt
Big Ramy was born and raised in Baltim, Kafr El Sheikh, Egypt, where he completed his education in his hometown. Later on, he moved to Kuwait to work as a fisherman, in which he started his professional career. He is married and has three daughters.
Ramy was always known among his friends and family members as a calm collective inpidual. He said in a 2015 interview with Mona El Shazly that although he is a very strong inpidual he has never gotten himself into any fight throughout his life.
Inspirational Journey
While working as a fisherman, Oxygen Gym owner Badr El Bodaie saw great talent in him and decided to fund his training and help guide his career. Even though Kuwait provided the utmost support for the young Egyptian at the time, Ramy refused to play under the name of any other country than Egypt.
By 2011, he weighed 200 lbs, and when he stepped on the 2012 Amateur Olympia stage, he weighed in at 286 lbs and was declared the champion.
He won his pro card by winning the overall title at the 2012 Amateur Olympia in Kuwait City, just three years after he started training. In 2013, Big Ramy made his IFBB Pro debut at the New York Pro, which he won.
In 2020, The Pride of Egypt finally won the Mr. Olympia contest, cementing his legacy and fulfilling his dream.
The Egyptian bodybuilding champion surpassed Brandon Curry, who won the title last year 2019 and has finished second in this championship. His long time rival Phil Heath, who won seven “Mr. Olympia” titles, was ranked third.
