US President Joe Biden plans to announce $100 million in aid to Palestinian hospitals located in East Jerusalem during his Middle East tour this week.

"Axios" news website reported that the Biden administration sees this step as the main goal of the US president's visit to the Middle East, as the US leadership resorted to the authorities of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Israel to request financial aid for hospitals.

Previously, the UAE expressed its willingness to help Palestinian medical institutions by donating $25 million to Al Makassed Hospital, while other countries have not yet responded to The US president's request.

The US president is thus trying to attract the Persian Gulf states to more active participation in the settlement of the Middle East. During his tour, Biden is expected to visit Augusta Victoria Hospital in East Jerusalem, According to the website.

Moreover, the US administration hopes that the situation in the region will begin to change and that the normalization of relations between Israel and the Arab countries will benefit the Palestinian people.

Biden is on a tour of the Middle East from July 13 to 16, during which he will visit Israel, the West Bank, and Saudi Arabia.

According to the Washington administration, Biden plans to meet with about a dozen rulers of countries located in the region and abroad during his visit to Israel scheduled for July 13 and 14.
