The administration of US President Joe Biden asked Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett to restrain the construction of settlements in the West Bank.
Israeli sources said that the request was relayed to the Prime Minister’s Office last week, with acting US Ambassador Michael Ratney phoning PMO officials to say the Biden administration wants plans for new settlements to be reduced in scope, according to the Israeli Walls news site.
A US official told Walls that the administration has been in touch with Israel about settlements every week since Biden hosted Bennett at the White House in August
