Manchester City are facing the growing possibility of losing club captain Bernardo Silva in the coming months, as speculation over his future continues to intensify ahead of the summer transfer window.

Silva’s current contract is set to expire at the end of the season, and despite his continued importance to Pep Guardiola’s plans, uncertainty surrounds whether the Portuguese international will extend his stay at the Etihad Stadium.

His situation has become a major talking point as City navigate a period of gradual transition.

Since joining from AS Monaco in 2017, Bernardo Silva has been a cornerstone of Manchester City’s most successful era.

Renowned for his tactical intelligence, relentless work rate, and versatility across multiple positions, he has played a key role in multiple Premier League titles, domestic trophies, and the club’s long-awaited UEFA Champions League triumph.

Earlier this season, Silva was appointed Manchester City captain following Kevin De Bruyne’s move to Napoli, further highlighting the trust placed in him by Guardiola and the squad.

However, with City balancing the need for continuity and future planning, the midfielder now finds himself at a potential crossroads.

According to MailSport journalist Simon Jones, Juventus have identified Bernardo Silva as a major summer transfer target, with the Italian giants monitoring his contract situation closely.

The prospect of losing their captain on a free transfer would represent a significant blow for City, both on and off the pitch.

Guardiola has repeatedly stressed the value of experienced leaders during times of squad renewal, and Silva’s leadership, professionalism, and adaptability would be extremely difficult to replace.
