On Wednesday, prestigious French outlet L’Équipe reported that Karim Benzema, the star of the Saudi Al Ittihad, opened the doors to represent France at the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris.
Benzema hopes that he could be among the three players over the age of 23 who will be selected by Thierry Henry, the coach of the team.
According to Le Parisien, Henry hopes that he will be able to select Kylian Mbappé, Antoine Griezmann, and Olivier Giroud.
However, Real Madrid decided to rule out their players from participating in the Olympics which raised concerns over Mbappé's presence with The Bleus as the 24-year-old star is willing to sing with the Royal club.
When asked by L’Équipe about the potentiality of playing at the Olympics, Benzema said, “The Olympics? Of course, why not? It could be great!”.
