On Tuesday, Portuguese club Benfica qualified for the 2024/2025 UEFA Champions League Round of 16 after a 3-3 draw with French side Monaco. The game took place at the "Estádio da Luz" in Lisbon, Portugal.
It was the second leg of the 2024-2025 UEFA Champions League playoffs, with an aggregate score of 4-3 from the two legs.
Benfica took the lead through Karim Akturkoglu in the 22nd minute, while Monaco equalized through Minamino in the 32nd minute of the first half, with the match ending 1-1 at halftime.
In the second half, Monaco's Elia Ben Seghir scored the second goal for his team in the 51st minute, before Benfica equalized through Pavlidis in the 76th minute.
In the 81st minute, George Elenikhina scored to put Monaco ahead 3-2.
As the match neared extra time, Benfica’s Koko scored the third goal for his team and the goal that secured their qualification in the 85th minute, ending the match 3-3 and sending Benfica through.
Benfica won the first leg 1-0.
