British star Benedict Cumberbatch is teaming up with American filmmaker Wes Anderson for a movie adaptation of Roald Dahl's classic "The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar".
The movie is set to start filming in London soon and features Cumberbatch playing Sugar from Dahl’s magical children’s books.
Netflix had gained the rights to adapt the author's many beloved children’s literature classics in September 2021 in a deal with Roald Dahl Story Company.
"The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar and Six More" is a collection of seven short stories written by Dahl. The books are generally regarded as being aimed at a slightly older audience than many of his other children's books.
The stories were written at varying times throughout his life.
Anderson earned critical acclaim for his animated adaptation of Dahl's "The Fantastic Mr. Fox" in 2009.
The actor is currently getting award buzz for his portrayal of Phil Burbank in movie "The Power of the Dog". He is also currently starring opposite Tom Holland in Sony's "Spider-Man: No Way Home".
