Al-Ahly club officials asked Moroccan Ashraf Ben Sharqi, Al-Rayyan player, to end his relationship with his club in order to officially announce his transfer to the Red Castle during the current winter transfer period.
Al-Ahly completed its agreement with Ben Sharqi, who previously shone in the Zamalek jersey for more than one season, after the player agreed to reduce his annual salary more than once. He initially agreed to reduce his salary from $1.8 million to $1.5 million, before the Moroccan player recently agreed to the Al-Ahly administration's proposal to receive part of his salary in Egyptian pounds due to the dollar crisis that Al-Ahly is suffering from.
According to the agreement that was reached between Al-Ahly and Ben Sharqi during the past hours, the player agreed to receive $1 million, then receive $500,000 in Egyptian pounds, or about 25 million Egyptian pounds.
A source in Al-Ahly confirmed that the Moroccan player is currently negotiating amicably with his Qatari club to terminate his contract with them in preparation for announcing his transfer to the Red Castle tomorrow or the day after at the latest.
