Beirut Attacks' Death Toll Rises to 7

The death toll of the latest Beirut attacks rose to seven, the Lebanese Red Cross organization announced on Friday.

In addition, the latest confirmed number of injured persons is 32, including several serious injured, the Red Cross added.

Therefore, all schools, banks, and governmental offices suspended their activities on Friday as a mourning for the attacks' victims.

In the same context, Lebanese Armed Forces announced that they detained nine persons who are involved in Thursday's escalations in Tayouneh.

It is worthy to mention that several escalations erupted by heavy gunfire activity during a march by Hezbollah, and its ally Amal movement members towards the Palace of Justice in Tayouneh, Beirut on Thursdsy.

Lebanese Interior Minister Bassam Mawlawi informed reporters that snipers and gunmen shot a number of protesters in the head from rooftops, in addition, four B7 rockets were fired on the scene.

The protesters were in a demonstration against the presence of a judge who is leading Beirut Port Blast 2020; they were asking for his removal.

Later on, a heavy fire exchange between the shooters and other persons involved in the scene, therefore, strong security units were deployed in the scene, alongside the arrival of ambulances.

Finally, security forces and the army units controlled the scene, set strict security measures at the escalations' site to stop any violent acts.
