Beijing Welcomes Egypt's Request to Host China-Arab Summit

At the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi undertook a state visit to China from May 28 to 31, 2024.

According to a joint statement issued by both countries, the presidents held official talks regarding the entirety of bilateral relations and ways to develop them in various fields.

They also discussed enhancing coordination between the two countries in multilateral frameworks and exchanged views on numerous international and regional issues of common interest.

Moreover, both presidents praised the fruitful cooperation between Egypt and China within the framework of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum. 

In addition, they welcomed the outcomes of the first China-Arab Summit in Riyadh and emphasized the importance of joint efforts to implement these outcomes, including the eight shared initiatives for practical cooperation between China and Arab countries proposed by President Xi Jinping. 

The Chinese side expressed its welcome of Egypt's request to host a China-Arab summit. In Turn, the Egyptian side expressed its anticipation for the successful convening of the 10th ministerial meeting of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum.

The presidents also appreciated the joint cooperation and coordination within the framework of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.

They emphasized the necessity of continuing to implement the outcomes of the eighth ministerial conference of the Forum, especially the nine programs announced by President Xi Jinping. 

They also expressed their hope for the success of the upcoming China-Africa Cooperation Forum summit in September 2024.
