Beijing Invites Sisi, Bin Salman to Attend Olympics Opening Ceremony

Beijing invited Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, along with more than 20 foreign officials, to attend the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics in Beijing, the state broadcaster CCTV reported on Friday.

CCTV said the dignitaries will attend the opening ceremony on February 4, as well as a welcome banquet and talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

The attendees will also include Monaco's Prince Albert II and WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, as well as Polish President Andrzej Duda and Serbian Aleksandar Vucic.

The presence of Russian President Vladimir Putin was also confirmed, according to Agence France-Presse (AFP). International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach will also be present at the opening ceremony.
