The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) Arabic website said that a security flaw in the fitness app “Strava” allowed persons to identify and track security men working out in secret bases in Israel, according to the “Vic Reporter” group that monitors misinformation.
The group found that by uploading fake jogging “paths”, a user could learn the identities and past paths of other people active in the area, even if they had the strongest privacy settings.
The information on 100 inpiduals who exercised in six secret military bases in Israel could be found.
Strava said it has addressed the issue. According to the BBC, Israeli officials have not yet commented on this report.
