Bayern Munich will look to keep their historic treble ambitions alive when they face Bayer Leverkusen on Wednesday evening at the BayArena in the semifinals of the DFB-Pokal.

Bayern head into the match in high spirits after securing the Bundesliga title for the 35th time in their history with four matches to spare, following a win over Stuttgart.

The victory reaffirmed their domestic dominance and strengthened their bid to complete a treble this season.

The Bavarian side currently sit top of the table with 79 points, holding a 15-point lead over closest rivals Borussia Dortmund, who recently slipped to a 2–1 defeat against Hoffenheim.

On the European stage, Bayern remain firmly in contention after reaching the semifinals of the UEFA Champions League by eliminating Real Madrid.

Their focus now shifts to maintaining momentum in domestic cup competition against a strong Leverkusen side.

Since Borussia Dortmund achieved a domestic double in 2011 and 2012, Bayern have largely dominated German football, winning 13 of the last 14 league titles.

The only exception came from Bayer Leverkusen, who delivered an extraordinary unbeaten season, going 34 matches without defeat, a historic achievement in the competition.

Leverkusen have also impressed in the cup, advancing to the semifinals with a 3–0 win over St. Pauli, with goals from Martin Terrier, Patrik Schick, and Jonas Hofmann.

Bayern, meanwhile, secured their place with a 2–0 victory over RB Leipzig, in a match where an early goal from Christoph Baumgartner was ruled out for offside following a VAR review.

Harry Kane opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 64th minute, before Luis Díaz added a second goal after an assist from Michael Olise.

The final of the DFB-Pokal is scheduled to take place in Berlin on May 23, where the winner of this high-profile clash will aim to move one step closer to lifting the trophy.
