Bayern Munich have begun serious steps to secure the future of their English star Harry Kane by opening talks to extend his contract in the coming period, reflecting his growing importance within the club’s long-term project.
Since joining the German giants in the summer of 2023, Kane has continued to break records. Under head coach Vincent Kompany, however, he has evolved beyond a traditional striker into a more complete player, dropping deeper into midfield and playing a major role in building attacks.
Karl Heinz Rummenigge, a member of Bayern Munich’s supervisory board, confirmed in statements to t-online that signing Kane was a historic move for the club.
He noted that although the player had a release clause, he chose not to activate it, showing a clear desire to remain in Munich.
Rummenigge added that club officials plan to hold discussions with Kane after the end of the season with the clear goal of extending his contract.
He also praised the player’s development, saying Kane has always been a prolific goal scorer but has now become a playmaker as well.
By dropping into midfield and using his precise long passes, he creates chances for teammates such as Michael Olise and Luis Diaz, which has become a crucial part of Bayern’s playing style.
Kane’s current contract with Bayern Munich runs until the summer of 2027, but the club is eager to secure his stay for a longer period given his tactical evolution and strong influence on the team.
