Bayern Munich delivered a dominant performance on Saturday night, thrashing hosts RB Leipzig 5–1 at the Red Bull Arena to tighten their grip on the top of the Bundesliga table.
The emphatic victory came in Round 18 of the 2025/26 German league season.
Leipzig took a surprise lead in the 20th minute through Romulo Cardoso, giving the home side an early advantage and briefly raising hopes of an upset.
However, Bayern responded in devastating fashion after the break. Serge Gnabry drew the visitors level in the 50th minute before Harry Kane put Bayern ahead with a clinical finish in the 67th minute.
The Bavarians then ran riot late on, with Jonathan Tah adding a third in the 82nd minute, followed by goals from Aleksandar Pavlović and Michael Olise in the 85th and 88th minutes respectively.
Substitute Michael Olise played a decisive role, providing three assists and helping Bayern completely overwhelm Leipzig in the closing stages.
The result saw Bayern Munich strengthen their position at the top of the Bundesliga with 50 points, extending their lead to 11 points over second-placed Borussia Dortmund.
Bayern’s attacking prowess has been particularly impressive, with 20 goals scored in their last four league matches.
Leipzig, meanwhile, were unable to capitalize on home advantage and suffered a heavy defeat against the Bavarian giants.
